| Arts and Icicles - December 2008
Certainly the chilliest of the Art Walks, Arts and Icicles in early December gave us the chance to showcase local crafters once again, and Lisa Adams and Hilary Goodrum were set up with great holiday gift ideas. Lisa's hand made soaps, bath products, and candles smelled divine as usual, and Hilary's hand crafted jewelry was a hit! Even Christa somehow found time away from baking to set up her hand made handbags and scarves. The smell of fried dough was once again in the air as we greeted our happy customers with hot chocolate, warm apple crisp, and soups to take the chill away. A great way to kick off our holiday season!

2nd Street Baking Co.'s 1 Year Anniversary! - October 2008
October brought cooler temperatures and a time for celebration as we marked our first anniversary on October 18th. Friends, family, loyal customers, and the community came out to wish us congratulations for a successful first year. Mademoiselle Pixie Belle was on hand to make crazy balloon hats and flowers for the kiddies (ok, and for some of the not-so-kiddies as well!), and we proudly raised over $250 for the new family that will be moving into the Habitat for Humanity house at the corner of 2nd Street and L Street here in town.We raffled off the top tier of our anniversary cake, as well as t-shirts, gift certificates, and a goodie basket worth over $100! Thanks to everyone who came out to support us and share this special day. We truly have THE BEST customers anywhere, and we couldn't have done it without all of you!

| Arts and Leaves - Fall 2008
The Fall Art Walk, yet another in the line of Art Walks put on by The Brick House, that pairs local businesses with local artists for a walking tour of studios and exhibits, was great fun as always. We saw many of our friends and customers (both old and new) and served up delicious fried dough with maple cream, hot mulled cider, and our usual array of other tasty treats. The air was cool and crisp, but the bakery was warm and cheery with the sound of friends and neighbors chatting and snacking away into the late afternoon. We also invited local crafters Lisa Adams (displaying her FABULOUS all-natural hand made soaps, lotions, candles, and bath products) and Ericka Almeida (showcasing her amazingly beautiful hand-fired glass jewelry). Thanks also to our friends and local artists Bridget Bresnahan and Courtney Goodrum for displaying their paintings and photography for all to enjoy!

Turners Falls Block Party - Summer 2008
The 2nd Annual Turners Falls Block Party was a huge success, and we were so excited to be a part of this fantastic community event. We shut down the bakery and rolled our dessert display case right out onto the Avenue (with the help of our fabulous employees and friends of course!) and spent the better part of the day and night selling crispy fried funnel cakes, fruit tarts, slices of cheesecake, and breads to the never ending sea of Block Partiers. A great time was had by all!

| Cupcakes and Daisy Troops - Spring 2008
At 2nd Street Baking Co. we always look for opportunities to play with our food. So when the chance to host a cupcake decorating party for the local Daisy Troop presented itself, of course we said “YES!”. The kids were given a short tour of the bakery and then we let them run wild (and we do mean WILD!), armed with cupcakes and bags of frosting, decorating (and eating) their creations. |

The Green Fair - Spring 2008
When we were asked to participate in the Green Fair, held at the Franklin County Fairgrounds as part of the Better Living Show, we were more than happy to pack up and head to Greenfield to sell our breads, whoopie pies, and scones at the Farmer's Market. We had a chance to meet some new faces (as well as seeing some familiar ones of our own customers!) and support green living.

| Arts and Leaves - Fall 2007
We participated in our first Art Walk sponsored by The Brick House Community Center (3rd Street, Turners Falls) in September 2007. This was a “soft opening” for the bakery, as our kitchen was still not completed at the time. Again we called on our friends over at Our Lady of Peace to bake the goodies for the weekend event. This was our first opportunity to meet the locals (many of which are still loyal customers!) and tell everyone “we're almost ready to open!”. Thanks to Derrick Zellmann for displaying his amazing paintings for the event! |

Franklin County Fair - Fall 2007
2nd Street Baking Co. made our first public appearance at the Franklin County Fair in the summer of 2007. We were in the midst of our renovation at 69 2nd Street, so the folks over at Our Lady of Peace in Turners Falls were kind enough to lend us their kitchen to bake our Chocolate Dipped Cheesecake Pops! The Fair was a great success, and we were thrilled to introduce ourselves to the community and get the word out that our bakery would be “coming soon” to Turners Falls.
